John 16:7

But very truly I tell you, it is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Advocate will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you.”

The birds chirping outside are a welcome reminder that Spring has arrived, just like it does every year. The faithful presence of God in Creation is a reminder of His presence in our lives and the depth of His love for us. It is so evident in the cycle of the seasons that are consistent year after year, that our Father is faithful, consistent and trustworthy.

Yet sometimes we wonder where God is? We may not understand why we feel alone and wonder where God is in the trials or daily struggles of life. The Disciples did not understand that Jesus had to leave the earth, but He tells them here that He is leaving to send the Advocate. Jesus as fully man and fully God walked with the disciples to complete a task. When it was finished, He returned to sit at the right hand of the Father. Although His job on earth was completed for a season, He did not leave the disciples alone. We are not alone either, He sent a portion of Himself to dwell within the hearts, minds and souls of believers. The Holy Spirit, The Advocate is a constant portion of God that exists inside of those who believe in, love and proclaim Christ as Savior!

Thanks be to God that through His intelligent design for humanity we are never alone!
