Vacation Bible School

Due to COVID-19, we will livestream every Sunday at 9:45 a.m.

Knights of North Castle: VBS 2020!!

North Castle is hidden in a frozen land. The King’s valiant Knights are on a quest in search of the King’s Armor. But the armor isn’t what they think it is.

Knights of North Castle: Quest for the King’s Armor, invites children to be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his power by exploring how we put on the armor of God. Kids will take on the role of brave Knights and begin their quest each session by opening the King’s Book.

They’ll explore Old and New Testament stories and discover different pieces of protective armor — the Belt of Truth, the Breastplate of Justice, the Shoes of Peace, the Shield of Faith, and the Helmet of Salvation — at work in the lives of familiar Bible characters, and explore how that armor works in their own lives as they follow and serve God.

Help kids take up the gauntlet this summer and accept the challenge to “armor up” and be strong by remaining with God.

How is VBS going to happen?

Life has changed a lot in the past few months, hasn't it? That is not stopping us from having fun and sharing the love of Jesus with our kids! Even though we aren't gathering together, VBS will happen and will come to you in two ways: VBS in a box, and VBS videos on Facebook.

VBS In A Box

We will be putting all of the pieces of VBS together for you and packaging it so that each child has their own VBS box. They will have everything they need to have a fun and successful Vacation Bible School. We will let you know when the boxes are assembled and ready for pick up. Be sure to leave your phone number on the registration so that we can give you a call.

Our Own Facebook Group

All of the fun this year will take place in our own Facebook Group: First Church Knight of North Castle. Click the link below to join the group.

Dear Parent,

I’m sure you wish that this summer’s VBS were an in-person event, just as we do. We are truly going to miss seeing all of the children singing, laughing, learning, and growing together this summer at VBS. Still, we hope we can offer your children the very best alternative with this At-Home program.

As the most constant part of your child’s life, you have also been most important in helping your child know how loved they are by God, by you, and by others, and in guiding their spiritual growth and formation. Thank you for all you do in the work of daily discipleship, and thank you for your role in making sure this summer we have the very best VBS program possible! Your leadership and supervision in just a few activities will make all the difference.

Because we know you’ve already been busily adapting to the current reality and the "new normal", we want to make this as easy as possible. With that in mind, I’m including a simple step-by-step guide to assist you as you select and use the activities provided in each At-Home Packet. I’m also including a session overview chart and per-child supplies list so you can be more than prepared for each day.

  • We will hold At-Home VBS all through July and August, starting July 6th. To access the video portions of our program please join our closed Facebook Group "First Church Knights of North Castle"
  • We’ll also hold a daily debrief call/conference for all of our parents on the Facebook page from 2pm to 3pm to celebrate the day and address any questions or needs you may have.
Please know that we are praying that you will “Be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his power!” as we walk together through this discipleship journey.

Thanks to you for joining in ministry through VBS!

Miss Caroline
